Mount Clarence & Mount Melville

Mount Melville

Albany nestles between the peaks of Mount Melville and Mount Clarence, and from this distinctive observation tower on the summit of Mount Melville splendid views of the surrounding countryside are enjoyed. Enjoy 360 degrees panoramic views of the Porongorups to the North round the Princess Royal Harbour to the South East.

Mount Clarence

Visitors should not miss this unforgettable view of princess Royal Harbour. As well as being one of the best three harbours in the world, it surely rates as one of the most beautiful. Near the summit stands the re-erected ANZAC Light Horse Memorial, which stands in honour of those who fought at Galipolli during World War One. Originally erected in Port Said it was removed to its present site after receiving damage during the Suez crisis. This statue is a very impressive monument and was re-erected here where the men of the invasion fleet might have caught their last glimpse of Australia.
